The Supreme Court has been chipping away at our rights as US citizens overturning US laws.
- Roe v. Wade: In June 2022, the court overturned this landmark case, which established the constitutional right to abortion, allowing states to enact abortion bans
- Affirmative action: In June 2023, the court ended affirmative action in higher education
- Chevron deference: In July 2024, the court overturned this 40-year-old standard that required federal courts to defer to reasonable agency decisions when federal law was unclear. The court ruled that the judiciary, not federal agencies, should resolve questions of law according to their own judgment.
- President Joe Biden's federal student loan debt relief plan: The court struck down this plan
- Covid vaccination-or-test requirement for larger businesses: The court blocked this requirement
- EPA's authority to limit carbon emissions from power plants: The court curbed this authority
- Camping bans: The court ruled that people without homes can be arrested and fined for sleeping in public spaces, overturning a lower court's ruling that enforcing camping bans when shelter is lacking is cruel and unusual punishment
- Removing the ability to hold a President accountable for their actions.
The Supreme Court does not feel it needs to abide by the ethical norms set for all Judges.
The Supreme court has been forced to disclose the gifts they receive.
A Staggering Tally: Supreme Court Justices Accepted Hundreds of Gifts Worth Millions of Dollars
Many of the gifts the Supreme Court justices receive are related to cases that they hear and decide on.
All judges should recuse themselves from cases where ther is a conflict of interest or lack of impartiality.
The Administration has created a Bold Plan to Reform the Supreme Court
The President and Vice President believe that Congress should pass binding, enforceable conduct and ethics rules that require Justices to disclose gifts, refrain from public political activity, and recuse themselves from cases in which they or their spouses have financial or other conflicts of interest. Supreme Court Justices should not be exempt from the enforceable code of conduct that applies to every other federal judge.
There should be term limits for Supreme Court Justices. Term limits would help ensure that the Court’s membership changes with some regularity; make timing for Court nominations more predictable and less arbitrary; and reduce the chance that any single Presidency imposes undue influence for generations to come. President Biden supports a system in which the President would appoint a Justice every two years to spend eighteen years in active service on the Supreme Court.

Trump says "in four years, you don't have to vote again."
Recently Trump was speaking at an event organized by the conservative group Turning Point Action in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told Christians on Friday that if they vote for him this November, "in four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not gonna have to vote." It was not clear what the former president meant by his remarks, in an election campaign where his Democratic opponents accuse him of being a threat to democracy, and after his attempt to overturn his 2020 defeat
After that the former president, in an interview on Fox News, declined to back away from his comments and repeated his argument that if he’s elected, “the country will be fixed” and their votes won’t be needed.
